ACAV A2

The ACAV A2 represents the simplest and most advanced analytical technique for ultra high shear paper coating optimization:

  • Best correlation to blade loads
  • Shear rate range from 100 to 10.000.000 1/s
  • Total analysis time complete with cleaning cycle, approximately eight (8) minutes
  • Possibility to analyze static and dynamic water retention of coating colors and base papers
  • Possibility to analyze most viscous slurries
  • Capillary and SLIT techniques

ACAV A2 provides solution for:

  • Better product quality with optimized coating recipes and high solids; better smoothness, gloss, bulk and stiffness, reduced need for calendering.
  • Higher speed and reduced breaks; lower blade pressure and with good rheology.
  • Reduced coating color costs with new traditionally rheologically difficult pigment and binder combinations: high brightness clays, new ground carbonates, application specific PCC´s.
  • Less demanding and cheaper base paper: more filler, less long fiber chemical pulp.

ACAV A4

ACAV A4 – new version of ACAV viscometers

- The ACAV A4 has been designed for routine tests of runnabilities of coating colors in laboratories of paper mills.

- The control program and user interface program of ACAV A4 works under Windows™ 2000 operating systems. The A4 can analyze shear rates with Capillary option from 1000 1/s up to 0,5 million 1/s and or with Slit option from 100 000 1/s up to 4 million 1/s. The maximum sample volume is 0,5 liter.

- Perhaps the best benefit of A4 in addition to ease of use is its low price in comparison to its performance. Thanks to its size this runnability tester of coating colors can be placed on the table.

  PERMI On-Line Porosity Analyzer

- Permi is a new on-line paper quality analyzer, designed for monitoring grades where porosity is a critical variable.

- Permi provides continuous and immediate feedback on quality and changes of porosity. The measurement time is one millisecond (1 ms) with even low porous papers. The analyser can be used in machines producing the following grades: sack, cigarette, filter, MG-kraft, bank note, photo, SC, LWC base, saturating, tissue, coping etc. papers.

- Because of the new design there are no dead times in measurements as it is in the case of conventional analyzers. The analyser meets the needs of ISO 5636-1, ISO 5636-2, ISO 5636-3, ISO 5636-4 standards as well as the most frequently used units as Bendtsen, Schopper, Gurley, Borgwald, Coresta etc can be used when presenting results.
