OPTEST

Fiber Quality Analyzer – 360

The FQA-360 rapidly and accurately measures fiber length, width, curl, % numeric fines and kink in dilute pulp samples. Optional software is available to measure mean fiber coarseness according to ISO 23713, hardwood/softwood blends, analyze shives and analyze vessel elements.

The FQA-360 features a patented flow cell that stays clean and does not plug. It easily measures difficult pulps without special pre-treatment or screening.

The FQA meets or exceeds the specification of Tappi Test Method T271, PAPTAC B.4 and ISO 16065. Options include the AutoFeed, capable of automatically testing up to 99 samples.

Micro-Scanner

The Micro-Scanner measures visible dirt with the correct illumination and automatic thresholding according to Tappi Test Method T563 and ISO 5350-4 [no operator adjustments].

The Micro-Scanner also measures sheet formation quality, light contraries such as plastics (with reflected light) or pin holes (with transmitted light), and solid image print uniformity.

Standard equipment includes a strip feeder and measurements with either reflected or transmitted light.

Paper PerFect Formation Analyzer

Paper PerFect Formation Analyzer (PPF) revolutionizes product quality optimization and productivity by measuring the sheet uniformity at different “scales of formation”! With the PPF, papermakers are able to rapidly optimize formation in ways unachievable with traditional single index instruments.

The PPF quantifies formation into its component values.
Individual component values correlate well with paper and board properties such as strength and printability.

LSI – A4

The Large Sheet In-speck-tor – A4 (LSI-A4) measures dirt specks in pulp and paper according to ISO/CEN 5350-4, TAPPI T563 & Paptac D35 standard methods.

Operating on flat and smooth sheets, with ISO Brightness >70% , it measures dirt specks on sheets in a single scan.

The LSI provides the information you need to assure a high quality product.

OpTiSurf

The OpTiSurf uses advanced optics and algorithms to quickly quantify the optical roughness of sheets. OpTiSurf is more objective compared to air-leak or stylus methods, correlates with traditional air leak tests but has greater precision and speed, with less maintenance. The OpTiSurf gives an Index of Roughness as well as Roughness values at different size scales.

Domtar Lint Tester

Includes a portable device for collecting lint from an offset blanket [lab or production press] for further analysis. This includes a fractionator to screen the collected lint and calculate an index of linting propensity.

Print Mottle Analyzer

OpTest Print Mottle Analyzer (PMA) revolutionizes the measurement of print mottle! Using advanced Wavelet algorithms, the PMA quickly quantifies print non-uniformity over a range of mottle sizes from 0.5 mm to 8 mm.

Comparisons with reference samples are performed automatically providing the user with a rapid determination of print mottle intensity and size scale differences.

Watermark Quality Analysis Software

OpTest Print Mottle Analyzer (PMA) revolutionizes the measurement of print mottle!

Using advanced Wavelet algorithms, the PMA quickly quantifies print non-uniformity over a range of mottle sizes from 0.5 mm to 8 mm.

Comparisons with reference samples are performed automatically providing the user with a rapid determination of print mottle intensity and size scale differences.

OpTiPro analyzes

The OpTiPro analyzes periodic and quasi-periodic patterns in formed sheets with superior precision, speed and sensitivity.

The software is used in conjunction with the Paper PerFect Formation Analyzer or the Micro-Scanner.
