Cambridge Viscosity

ViscoLab 3000

The ViscoLab 3000 laboratory viscometer is the ideal choice for measurement when viscosity testing requires the sample material to be tested at specific temperatures. This lab viscometer is used for applications ranging from research and development through quality control, and industries ranging from life sciences to oil analysis, including measuring oil viscosity for VI (Viscosity Index). It is a temperature controlled viscometer incorporating an integrated heater that delivers accurate measurements at user-defined temperatures from slightly above ambient to 356°F (180°C). The temperature range of this viscometer can be extended to -40°C with the optional cooling jacket coupled with an appropriate cooling bath.

ViscoLab 4000

The ViscoLab 4000 is a small sample viscometer which supports up to 12 different 20:1 viscosity ranges; up to 10,000 cP with several output options. The ViscoLab 4000 can display viscosity in either centipoise or centistokes, and temperature can be displayed in either C or F. This unit requires less than 2 ml of sample and produces an extremely reliable viscosity measurement.

Due to its innovative oscillating piston design, this small sample viscometer measures fluids at ambient temperatures. An optional jacket is available for temperature control with a re-circulating bath, enabling accurate viscosity measurements from -40°C to 110°C. In addition to the sensor, sophisticated electronics provides users with substantial flexibility, including specifying temperature and viscosity display units and data averaging intervals. Correlates with ASTM D445 and complies with ASTM D7483

CVI 440 sensor

Viscosity Sensors

The high pressure viscosity sensors 440 and 443 are used in various applications including PVT oil research, EOR, core analysis, and supercritical fluid research. Fluid flows through a 1/4 inch high pressure port for measurement in which the fluid may be measured under low flow or static conditions. A Cambridge Viscosity system measures viscosity, temperature, and temperature compensated viscosity. It provides data via a RS-232, RS-485 or 4-20 mA signal.

Both sensors install into a high-pressure, pump-through type system. Both ends mate to HiP HF4 fittings with a 9/16-28 thread. The 440 high pressure viscometer sensor is rated for continuous operation up to 20,000 psi and is static tested to 30,000 psi while the 443 sensor is rated up to 30,000 psi.

ViscoLab PVT

For oil, gas, and supercritical fluids, the ViscoLab PVT delivers accurate, fast, and reliable viscosity measurements. In high-pressure environments, correctly analyzing precious samples is as challenging as it is critical. The ViscoLab PVT is the gold standard for high pressure viscosity analysis. This high pressure viscometer operates at pressures up to 20,000 psi (up to 30,000 psi with a special option), and controls temperatures from -5° to 185°C with minimal warm-up time.
